First Impressions- NYX Worth The Hype Mascara

I purchased the NYX Worth The Hype mascara at Walgreens ($7.99) a few weeks ago and have been using it daily for about two weeks now! In fact, I bought two new tubes for backups. 🙂 No, it hasn’t fully replaced my Benefit Roller Lash, but this mascara is definitely a new favorite!

My first thought was that I love love love the full brush! It isn’t bendy and the bristles hug my lashes coating them perfectly.

It was a breeze to do my bottom lashes, as well.

The formula is dry, which I prefer. The product didn’t bombard the brush and clump on my lashes. Any excess was easily removed with a dampened cotton swab.

For a more natural lash, my ride or die mascara is Benefit’s Roller Lash. I doubt I will ever find a mascara to completely replace the Roller Lash, however, the NYX Worth The Hype mascara will definitely be my go to for when I’m in the mood for lush, long, dark lashes. It is simply stunning on my eyes.

My lashes had definite volume, great separation, weren’t clumped together, were long, lush and black. I’d never received compliments on my mascara before but had received many compliments on my eyes in the first two days I used this product. IMG_1562

The Overalls:

What I like: The wand, the formula, the application, the results, the price! Holy moly, y’all, this mascara is life.

What I don’t like: There isn’t anything I do not like about this mascara. Trust me, I tried to find SOMETHING.  There may be a small amount of transfer from my lower lashes, but it is hardly noticeable.

I am in LOVE with the NYX Cosmetics Worth The Hype mascara. Funny thing is that I haven’t read much about this mascara, or seen it used much on YouTube. It is absolutely worth the hype!

Have you tried the NYX Worth The Hype mascara? What are your thoughts?

Thank you for reading!

Scentbird – April 2018

If you’re not familiar, Scentbird is a designer fragrance subscription service.  You can opt to receive 1, 2 or 3 fragrances starting at $14.95 per month.  The fragrances come in a 0.27 oz (8 ml) bottle which provide enough product for 30 days. I receive three fragrances per month for $35.00.

The fragrances arrive in a bubble envelope and a card with information on each fragrance. The cards are great to use for sampling each scent.

My April fragrances:

IMG_1584.JPG

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue – From the Scentbird website:

A stunning perfume, overwhelming and irresistible like the joy of living. The scent is surprisingly colored with the liveliness of Sicilian citron, the happiness of Granny Smith apple, and the spontaneity of bluebells. Feminine and resolute notes are expressed with the intensity of jasmine, the freshness of bamboo, and the charm of white rose. The deep and true base embodies the character of cedarwood, the fullness of amber, and the embrace of musk.

My thoughts:  I enjoy this fragrance. It’s citrus-y with woodsy, floral and sexy undertones. I am loving the feminine fragrances with masculine undertones.

Cartier Baiser Vole – From the Scentbird website:

Cartier’s Baiser Vole (“stolen kisses”) celebrates a stunning light green lily note, from the verdant texture of its leaves, to the powdery embrace of its petals. The dry down is nothing more than a drifting current of serene green stems in water, infusing this fragrance with a gauzy, tender, and moonlit feel.

My thoughts:  This fragrance is powdery and feminine with a touch of citrus. I like it, but it’s not my favorite of the three.

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme – From the Scentbird website:

A creamy, silken jasmine note blends with rich, toasted marshmallow, while bright bursts of tangy raspberry and tangerine pop and swirl over a velvety soft orange blossom note in the heart.

My thoughts:  This is my favorite of the three. It’s a bit bold for a work day, but I wear it anyway because it smells wonderful.

I am really enjoying this subscription service! I get to try new fragrances at an affordable price.

Halo Beauty Hair Skin Nails Booster – Weeks 2 & 3 Results

Hello and welcome back, lovelies! I have completed Weeks 2 and 3 of my 3 month challenge taking the Halo Beauty Hair Skin Nails Booster supplement. Read my Challenge post here. The clicky clicky will open in a separate window. 🙂

IMG_1421The product is $39.95 plus $4.95 shipping which made my total $44.90 for a 30 day supply. The daily intake is two capsules per day. I take two each morning with breakfast.

I still have not had any weird side effects, other than bright yellow pee about 30 minutes to an hour after taking the supplement. 🙂 Others have noted the same, so I’m not concerned.

Starting Week 2, I have experienced a slight bout with tiny whiteheads on my face, but they go away in 2-3 days. The breakouts haven’t been enough for me to stop taking the supplements. I am still experiencing the breakouts on Week 3, but again, I don’t know if the pimples are from the supplement and they’re not that bad. My routine has not changed; I wash my face in the morning and in the evening before bed. I also do a sheet mask 2-3 times a week.

I have not used foundation for just over a month now. I have been moisturizing, using primer, a highlight, blush and mascara.

Here are my BEFORE photos:BEFORE Halo Beauty

Here are my Week 2 results:Week 2 Halo BeautyYou can definitely see my skin is brighter in the Week 2 photos. The discoloration and my unsightly age spots have lightened.  The cystic acne on my chin is still gone, however, you can see the two pimples that only lasted 2-3 days. I also have noticed the fine lines around my lips have slightly diminished.

I forgot to take a photo of my nails at Week 2, but I will admit that I have not yet noticed much difference. The growth has not improved and they’re still brittle and peeling. I really don’t expect much for another couple of weeks. I also have not noticed much where my hair is concerned. The hair will be a bit tricky to document because my hair is already pretty healthy and soft, but I will do the best I can to provide updates.

Overall, my skin looks and feels soft. I have eczema breakouts every so often but have noticed that the dry, scaly skin has improved. I get patches under my arms, in my armpits and on my legs. I dry brush 2-3 times a week which also helps in maintaining soft, healthy looking skin.

Here are my Week 3 results: My skin has been freshly cleansed and I moisturized after I took the photos. Week 3 Halo Beauty.jpgMy skin looks brighter and my age spots look as if they’re continuing to get lighter in color. My redness isn’t quite as noticeable. I still have patchy discoloration on my cheeks, though it looks to be improving. I continue to get compliments on my skin at work. No one knows that I am taking a supplement. Week 3 Nails Halo BeautyMy nails have improved a little since starting the supplements. My cuticles aren’t as dry; upon inspection as I write this, my cuticles aren’t dry at all. My nail beds are a soft pink and actually look really good. I expect the nails to take a few more weeks before I growth results. When my nails are healthy, I keep them at an active length. Right now, as they are brittle and peeling, I keep them short.

At the 1 month mark, I will post all first month results side by side in one post. If you wish to see my Week 1 results, click here. The clicky clicky will open in a separate window.

I am excited to complete Month 1! Bottle #2 arrived yesterday!

What do you think of my Week 2 and 3 results? Are you taking the Halo Beauty Hair Skin Nails Booster supplement or any other supplement? What are your thoughts on supplements?

Thank you for reading!

Life

Life has been a bit more disruptive as of late. Nothing terribly serious, just minor inconveniences that fractured my motivation.

I will be posting my Week 2 and 3 results of Halo Beauty Hair Skin Nails supplement together.

Thank you for sticking around during my absence. ❤
